I had a weird experience

Posted on Friday, January 3, 2003 in Old Entries

I had a weird experience this morning. As I lay procrastinating the day, I was dreaming…but only in the sense that things were happening in my head that I had little control over; I still could have gotten up at any time, I think. Anyway, the weird part is that not only was I seeing the story, it was being narrated, like a book. Did you ever have that happen? I had the full, coherant text of the story running through my brain. Sounded pretty good, too. I tried to put it into words again as soon as I got up, but you know how those things go…dreams’ major details and plot points are forgotten very quickly. And as C.S. Lewis wrote in The Silver Chair, “All this takes time to write down; it happened so quickly that there was only just time to see it.” Likewise, from John Greenleaf Whittier, “Of all sad words of tongue and pen the saddest are
these - it might have been.” So I’m over-dramatic. Sue me.

Bring on the comments

  1. You have lots of galpals, don’t you?

  2. actually, comparatively few. why?

  3. Dunno. You seem the type to have lots of chick friends.

  4. :) So is that good, or bad?

  5. Depends on who you’re talking to. :) As a woman, I’d be comfortable around you (probably) talking about chick stuff and whatnot. You just seem like that type of guy. The kind you can hang out with and it isn’t all male/female awkward. Ya know? Those types of men are few and far between. So, in my opinion, it’s a good thing. To a guy, it could be bad, though. So, it’s hard to say. *nods*

  6. sensitive yet strong, that’s me. :P actually, yeah … i do like to do creative things instead of, say, watching a war movie. i don’t think that’s bad. i guess like you said, it depends on your point of view.

  7. I’d totally feel safe letting you do my hair. ;) lol

  8. Hey Daniel! Ya’ got my favorite quote on here today! John Greenleaf Whittier - fantastic mind, great writer. Though it’s my favorite quote, particularly because of the life lessons learned from it, it’s still rather bittersweet :-\

  9. though, churchgirl, now you’re getting scary. stay away from me, woman. and andy, you don’t have to sign your name. it does it for you. :)

  10. It isn’t often that I actually laugh out loud at stuff I read on the ‘net, but you had me giggling. (Which is oh, so girlish.) ;) I’ll try not to pick on you too much. Though it is awfully tempting. You strike me as one I could make blush. That is strangely appealing. Hmm. Have a nice evening. :)

  11. ha, but if i do, you can’t see it. nyahh, nyahh. :P

  12. Ah, at first I thought you were saying that I was recognizable by my own, unique style of writing - then I realized that you were mentioning that your page does it for me. :-\ Alas! Signing my name, force of habit, the good ‘ol hyphen followed by all lowercase. I need something more recognizable. Sam has a fish and a cross. I will begin accepting all ideas for a new signature! Haha, sorry to hog up this comment thread with meaningless drivel… I will go now! Goodnight!

    -andy (HA!)

  13. not meaningless drivel. variety. adds a third person; and, in this case, a second subject. :P

  14. Haha, I think I may have manifested the first bug of the new cookies! Look at my previous post - it thinks I’m you!! How cool!! :-D

  15. now it doesn’t … i fixed it.

  16. Woo, look at you and all these messages. :)

  17. yeah, i know … it’s crazy. i think it might be a record. (there’s another!)

  18. Dan’s got fans. :) Aww. Isn’t it sweet? Don’t forget me when you’re famous. ;)

  19. i’ll remember you all … all two of you.

  20. 20 comments! Hooray! :)

  21. hey, I comment!
