QTVR panorama of my apartment

Posted on Friday, July 29, 2005 in Internet and Life

Paulo linked to AutoStitch, a technology demo of a revolutionary new automatic photo stiching system. I thought I’d try it out with some photos I’d taken a while ago of my apartment interior. You can see the results here: JPG version, QTVR version.

  1. Those links don’t work from an RSS reader b/c there’s no way to know the base URL. I guess we just need ATOM 1.0 to come out (or use absolute links).

  2. Actually, there might be. My RSS reader (NetNewsWire) seems to get it right. I assume they’re using the

element. What RSS reader are you using?

Originally, the feed didn’t have any links at all. I enabled them so that the Asides would be useful in an RSS reader.

Maybe this will spark a debate about links, specs and readers!

  3. I’m using:
    http://danielbergey.com/weblog/feed/
Which appears to be an RSS 2.0 feed. I’m using akregator for an rss reader. I guess NetNewsWire somehow assumes the relative links are based on the baseurl, but that wouldn’t work if you didn’t have something like ‘images/thing.jpg’ instead of ‘/images/thing.jpg’. Or maybe it figures it out from the . Who knows.
