Moving again

Posted on Friday, October 7, 2005 in Internet and Life

Tomorrow I’m moving again. No, the engagement between Jennifer and I hasn’t dissolved and I’m not moving back north in a huff. I’m just moving to a new apartment. One with more than one room.

It’s pretty nice. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and is in a very nice apartment complex 10 minutes from The Bank where Jennifer works. I’m getting this place now, and she’ll move in next January. Or so it officially goes. We’ll be moving some of her furniture in this weekend, and some of her possessions will be migrating over the course of the next few months.

This move is turning out to be more haphazard than I’d like, which is likely my fault. I do have a truck reserved, and I don’t have as much packed and ready to go as would be prudent. But most of it’s books and furniture. I have very few items that don’t fall into one of those categories. It shouldn’t take long to wrap up after work today.

Oh, and I told Charter to transfer my cable internet service to the new place. In so doing, I learned that they now have a 5Mbps service available for $10 more than I’m paying now! I didn’t upgrade, but I might try it out when I call back to ask why in the world they have to wait until Wednesday to do the service transfer when I’m supposed to take my modem with me to the new place anyway. What does the tech have to do? It may be that I can just call them tomorrow from the new place and have them turn it on from their end.

Tim’s arriving tonight from Nashville to spend the weekend. He’s gonna help move, but we’re going to interesting things, too, since Monday is a holiday.

What fun.
