May 1 Reboot

Even though my new design went live two days ago, and even though I did not previously know about the May 1 Reboot, I’m going to pretend that I am participating in it. And also, even though I’m not registered at the may1reboot.com site.

Yes, I know the other tabs don’t work yet.

I might rethink some elements of the design later as well, but it’s done almost completely by simply applying a stylesheet to the K2 scheme.

I also have some Growl styles almost ready to release, and they’ll be available under the Software tab.

Since it’s a known fact that one’s site design can inspire or discourage content creation, this will hopefully inspire me to blog, or at least put some kind of content up here. That only works if one actually likes the design, though, and I’ve been known to quickly grow tired of my own creations.

Time shall tell.

I’ve got a big horizontal scroll bar in Konqueror - looks like it’s due to the big background image. Let me know if you need any more info for testing.

    Nice site design though!

Yeah … Doug, does the scroll bar go away if you make the window wider?

Nope. Even at 1680px wide (minus scrollbar and window border) it’s still there. At my normal window size, there’s probably 150-200px of background on each side of the main content area (the white).
